The teaching guide begins by setting out a theoretical framework for peace education activities, laying the groundwork for explaining complex concepts such as war, violence, peace and non-violence, which can sometimes be difficult to grasp and relate to our everyday reality. Once these concepts have been introduced, it goes on to explain the causes of wars, analysing the processes and actors that account for the existence and proliferation of weapons and their ultimate use in armed conflicts (the arms cycle). Finally, after analysing these factors, the focus shifts to the people who suffer the worst consequences of wars: their victims.
